Wasn't sure if this was the right forum category, but whatever. Hello, my name is Noah, and I am a youtuber. I bought the new computer to eliminate these problems. However, when I try to run the program, this exact phrase pops up about a quarter through start up: "An error occurred starting Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum.

The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications. I also increased my virtual memory capacity in the Control Panel, but that did not work either. I have tried close to everything, looked on about every website I can find.

Almost no one has this issue, and I have no idea why it happens. I can run Adobe After Effect, a much more demanding program, absolutely fine, with no lag whatsoever.

Please, if you can help leave a reply. I'm desperate to get this program working again. Thanks, -Noah. This is an odd issue in that it would probably be cured by removing some of your memory. If I'm right it is caused by poor programming methods.

Many programs will check to see if enough memory is available. It is actually easier to check a range of memory than just a minimum amount so lazy programmers will check for a range, say 2GIG - 8GIG. If you have 10GIG it is not within the range so generates the error. The result is that the software thinks that you have too little memory when in fact you have more than the specified range's max.

That is the first thing that comes to mind, can't say for fact it is the real issue. Further to the advice in the previous post Hi xXnswagsXx. Welcome to Computer Help Forums.

I think you have a page file issue here. Check your page file to make sure that it is set to be managed by Windows 7. If it is, then you might try increasing the size of the min and max size. If I may add to the sound advice addressing the possibility of a page file issue virtual memory you might try resetting the page file.

To do this you would got to your Control Panel and then System. You will need to be in icon view. Sorry but I just flat refuse to try to deal with category view. Under Advanced goto Advanced again. At the bottom of this dialog you will see Virtual Memory , click on Change. You will probably see that Automatically manage paging file is checked, uncheck that option.

Now select No page file and then OK. Apply and OK your way all the way back out and re-boot. Now do everything just like we did but now check to allow Automatically manage paging file and re-boot again. This will clear and reset your page file virtual memory to assure that there is no corruption involved. Please report back as to if this fixes the issue or it remains.
